Hi my name is Mandisa Pittmon and I am a married mother of 3 teenage children who understands the joy and challenges of parenting and relationships. I am originally from Southern California but have happily resided in Sacramento, CA since 2012.
I graduated from California State Fullerton and soon began working with foster youth in group home facilities for 8 years while working in nonprofit community outpatient clinics, which allowed me to better understand the needs of families and children from various cultures and back grounds. I then earned a Masters degree (MA) in 2011 from National University, feeling the need to increase my knowledge and ability to serve individuals and families, which began my journey in marriage and family therapy. Later I was able to receive additional training in Applied Behavior Analysis, allowing me to work with children on the autism spectrum and with other disabilities, in various school districts.
I have a passion for working with children, couples, families, teenagers and parents, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Incredible years, ACT therapy, and Solution focused therapy, tailored to the unique needs of individuals and families. I believe understanding the individual/families needs, culture, history, and goals are imperative to the therapeutic relationship and obtaining desired outcomes.
I look forward to beginning the therapeutic journey to discover the inner light that can illuminate the path to better relationships and a more fulfilling life.
